Blessings of God to be sought for honest and good performance
INDIAN GOVERNANCE mechanism constitutionally “SWEAR BY GOD” promising honest discharge of the public duties – whereas most of the world state’s Heads, swear as…. “HELP ME GOD“so that I could truly , faithfully and to the best of skill, & knowledge execute the powers & trust reposed in as…….……….” ?
One of the RUSTIC phrases in Punjab is that, “Rice producing villagers gets identified from the stalk stored in fields or at the outskirt of that village”. When applied on the larger territorial canvass, May displays ….real spirit ….in all of us. An intellectual once valued…….” swearing in contents” for the constitutional positions of India in a comparative essence of other countries. His views were recalled on Oath/swearing taken place on 9th November, 2014. “I………………., swear in the name of God ….that I will maintain the integrity of India ….will work without fear, anger or hatred and will do justice to all as per the constitution.”
It is a well known fact that….. Sikh Diasporas hold public prayers daily from thousands of Gurudwaras of the world, seeking ….“Welfare of the Global humanity” …… But when they publicly state that “religion & Politics” are two sides of one coin for them,……” they are out casted ” on the political platform …alleging, “Indian constitution being secular” has no religious identity. Sikhs being razor thin minority in the…new India get…. compressed to the “confused environment” on such politically motivated interpretations of the constitutional book on technicalities. The countries having belief in God end up oath ceremonies with the phrase; “So help me God”.
We adopted solemn promissory assurance during the ….1947 critical circumstances and partially under fear psychosis of continuity of independence claims of princely statehood. The amalgamation brought in many valuable international contents of those times. But regrettably, generations of the last century could not succeed in positioning for the …..adequate statuary support mechanism for compliance of …its “Justice system.” The mala fide’ designed challenges were avoidable ….which brought loss to a large member of S. Caste, Muslim, Christian & Sikhs during the journey …..on “the new Indian soil.” The ritual oath ceremony of the….new Ministerial team, therefore reminded ….”Punjab-India ” on the desirable amendments, seeking “functional quality Justice Mechanism”. Indian Republic must read in between from the comparative promissory Oath contents with that of the …..few Global samples. Mostly those are based on citizen welfare value statements for swearing of oath of office of their ..P.M./Ministers.
Canadian Prime Minister; Pledge…” I…………………., do solemnly and sincerely promise and swear (or declare) that I will truly and faithfully, and to the best of my skill and knowledge, execute the powers and trust reposed in me as Prime Minister, so help me God.
GERMAN says; “I ……………….swear that I will dedicate my efforts to the well-being of the German people, promote their welfare, protect them from harm, uphold and defend the basic Law and the laws of the Federation, perform my duties conscientiously, and do justice to all. So help me God.
U.S.A. President ; I …………..do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.
ITALY; The oath for the Prime Minister is: “I……………………. swear to be faithful to the Republic; to observe the Constitution and laws; and to exercise my duties in the exclusive interest of the Nation.”
United Kingdom; The Oath of Allegiance is “I, ……………….., do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty ………,her heirs and successors, according to law. So help me God. The Official Oath is: “I………………….., do swear that I will well and truly serve Her Majesty Queen…………. in the office of ………….. So help me God.”
Russia: “I………………… swear in exercising the powers of the President of the Russian Federation to respect and safeguard the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, to observe and protect the Constitution of the Russian Federation, to protect the sovereignty and independence, security and integrity of the State, to faithfully serve the people.”
South Africa; I……………., swear (or solemnly affirm) that I will be faithful to the Republic of South Africa, and will obey, observe, uphold and maintain the Constitution and all other law of the Republic; and I solemnly and sincerely promise that I will…………………..; do justice to all; and devote myself to the well-being of the Republic and all of its people. So help me God.
Greece; I…………………. swear in the name of the Holy, Consubstantial and Indivisible Trinity to safeguard the Constitution and the laws, to ensure their faithful observance, to defend the national independence and territorial integrity of the Country, to protect the rights and liberties of the Greeks and to serve the general interest and the progress of the Greek People.
INDIAN Oath: I …………………, do swear in the name of God/solemnly affirm that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established, that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India, that I will faithfully and conscientiously discharge my duties as Prime Minister for the Union and that I will do right to all manner of people in accordance with the Constitution and the law, without fear or favour, affection or ill-will
Oath of secrecy: I………………., do swear in the name of God/solemnly affirm that I will not directly or indirectly communicate or reveal to any person or persons any matter which shall be brought under my consideration or shall become known to me as Prime Minister for the Union except as may be required for the due discharge of my duties as such Minister.

Introspective Oath of India:
The Preamble in Indian Constitution (3.3.3) reads as: “We the people of India, having solemnly resolved to Constitute India into a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic, Republic and to secure to all its citizens; Justice: social, economic and political, Liberty; Liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship, Equality; of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all; Fraternity; Assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the nation; In our constituent assembly this twenty – sixth day of November 1949, do hereby adopt, enact and give to ourselves this constitution.”The constitution of India has created a secular state, means; 1) The state gives equal protection to all religions. 2) The state does not uphold any particular religion as the state Religion. 3) Freedom of Religion is guaranteed in the constitution.4) Equal respect for all religions.
There are few major learning points in the present form of constitutional OATH /SWEARING ceremony of Indian positions vis- a- vis global prospectus;The Indian constitution states being non religious country but for the basic Governance, desired to “SWEAR upon GOD” in ischarge of respective duties.We are the only country taking “GOD for guaranteed ” to Swear upon him/her, when all others seek blessings of GOD in discharge of their duties. How only one is to be sworn in for confidentiality when team in system handles the operations?
The spirit in most of other countries for promissory assurance is for development, welfare & protection of rights for citizens but India displayed worries/insecurity in basic foundation, seeking assurance for, “I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India” and welfare may reflect accidentally in operational agendas.
India has no time to introspect, which GOD is brought in mind, during the Oath taking ceremony of a constitutional position, including the office of P.M./Minister. The principal essence in the Indian OATH is to …..seek assurance to safeguard the integrity of the country & not welfare – growth & prosperity orientation of its citizens….. A unique religious faith got developed on the land of Punjab, titled as “SIKH WAY OF LIFE”. It came out with ……bold declarations that “Religion & Politics” are part of one coin. The “clever” majority of India allegedly compelled Sikh platforms …….to amend their “Missionary welfare GOAL.”
Hindustan may one day come back to appreciate the philosophy positioned after martyrdom of five centuries, …..under the guiding spirit of Guru Sahibas & now practiced under the spirit of Guru Granth Sahib. Hindustan may realize one day but may be ..”after shedding more blood on the streets”
The Mother Nature has its own fundamentals and must never be taken for guaranteed. The land belonged to the dominations of SWORD of A-B-C civilization and changed many hands from time to time……… We brought out politics of the different colors/attitudes/arrogance/religion/economics by virtue of not physical number games but based on …will to stand for Justice. The Republic of Punjab has gone through….. regular trauma of settlements & resettlements / constructions & reconstructions of civilisations and …..now seeks stable- honest Governance opportunities for self reliance from ” the Red Fort.”
The Union and state Governments technically do swear by GOD on promises, many known not to be fulfilled. India, marching to be “HINDU…….STAN ” …needs to wake up …..to reconstruct HONEST deeds on “SWEARING OATH CONTENTS” by replacing …..existing (dis)honest one. Practically feasible -correct to its capacity promises for the mutual welfare objectivity may be a practical choice of …the genuine “OATH statements”, …“seeking blessings of the God…rather…then to swearing upon her/him”
