The principal message in the very beginning in 1499 by Shri Guru Nanak Sahib was “Naa Koi Hindu-Naa Musalman”. He later expressed ‘Kiraat Karoo,Naam Japoo,Waand Shakoo’ : live by sharing wealth with those in disadvantage conditions, labor to honest living, respect human values without distinction or compartmentalization for religions & advised to remember common single God for the Globe. He did not endorse practice of IDOL worship & opposed division of community on religious parameters. He gave key words for natural human life in first pauri for Japuji Sahib. Guru Nanak Sahib practiced norms preached to others. He lived natural way of life with simplicity to be a role model & appealed others to conduct life accordingly. Most modern religious leaders make different set of norms for followers/society than their own way of living styles as referred above. Many a modern saints create fear psychosis, referring ancient customs for automatic punishments to disciples if they questioned teacher (living Guru) over depth for knowledge/wisdom with them on God .The individuals in spiritualism are getting themselves projected to be GURUS & allege to be the closest to GOD. Many of them using psychological skill to convince followers that they can reach GOD only through them. It is a different matter that a commoner like DHANNA JATT having been successful connecting directly with GOD at his own belief without mediators!
The spiritual movement of India also played important role making dent for the absolute exploitative conditions on the name of religion in most of par to the states managed independently .The new road map based on value for every human being without distinction for caste /creed was laid by Guru Nanak Sahib. The Sikh Guru Sahib adopted the basics of many spiritual leaders for identical ideologies incorporated in Shri Guru Granth Sahib. This resulted in highest place of reverence for them and continued to be respected by Sikh Diaspora. Punjab having fought during most part for Sikh way of life between 1499 -1999 in follow up for spiritual guidance enshrined in Guru Granth Sahib. Guru Granth Sahib contain teachings for almost whole of significant religious guides /Bhagats ,representing different states of India like ; Kabir Namdev, Ravidas Farid, Trilochan, Bhagat Beni, Dhanna, Jaidev, Parmanand, Sain,Sadhna, Ramanand ,Bhagat Surdas. The lessons through spirituality advocated for Path to make life better, convenient, comfortable. It is regretted that ,the Sikhs had been defending human rights for all others on the GLOBE but forgot to devote exclusive time in development of their own community in best planned ,innovative methods at their disposal by virtue of Science & safeguard themselves from challenges emerging on new Indian, larger canvass of land. God may bless them to learn from past for laying better future to defend them & their community when hurt or challenged for collective society v/s society damage in captive conditions of India.
The birth period for SIKHISM was shaped with birth of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Sahib in 1469 although formal declarations for philosophy for acceptance for faith has been referred to be in 1499. Guru Nanak Sahib after his having meditating 3 days in Bein canal, Kartar pur Sahib, Punjab came up for declaration that ‘Naa Koi Hindu-Naa Musalman’.
