Common ideological beliefs with Sikh philosophy connects Mandela with Punjab
Apartheid and Mandela turned synonymous to each other. Anti apartheid launch pad electrified by South African political leader Mr Mandela stood silenced on December 5th 2013.The demised leader carried on consistent struggles; ensuring withdrawal for discriminatory legislation containing blatant racial contents. The electrifying soul was pictured by congress as GANDHIAN MANDELA met with magnificent departure from present human life journey.
Mr. Mandela has been connected with Punjab through common ideological beliefs with Sikh philosophy .The principles enshrined in the teachings of Ten Nanaks scripted in Guru Granth Sahib conveyed that every human on the Earth got NATURAL EQUALITY RIGHTS in the eyes of GOD and cannot be discriminated.India has been divided for centuries on racial four categories by not allowing Shudras (untouchables) to compete with elite Brahmans till direct challenge thrown by spiritual leadership between 1500 – 1700. Punjabi’s have not been able to convince on genuineness in the claims of New India for contributions of Sh M.D.K.C.Gandhi in context of the direct welfare for natives for its state. It is a matter of historical record that Mr Mandela and Mr Gandhi never met each other during their life time .Sh Gandhi has been party to partition loss for 7 to 10 lakh innocents in 1947.Despite the fact, Mr Mandela was grouped with title to be Gandhian for Africa in view of absolving or hiding critical parts of Sh Gandhi for partition loss. The history on introspection conveyed that Sh Gandhi brought more harm than good to the population of non partitioned Punjab .Reader may assess in between statement ‘Globally great are those who do not discriminate & greatest generally turn to sainthood.
Punjab is unaware that Sh. M.D.K.C.Gandhi in heart of heart did not like ways of life conducted by Punjabies; majority being meat eaters though fighters’, believers in liberal way of life, not strictly comfortable with Sanskrit or typical Hindi speech cultures. Punjab never strictly associated with norms of discrimination in practice of other INDIA on cast based classifications .It is evident that the Punjab is having highest population for those treated as untouchables by Brahaminical policies. Thus Gandhi ji was captive to the situation promoting pro Gujarat – Maharashtar-U.P. dominated politics. He in heart of heart knew value in keeping good liaison with Sikh Diaspora purely for using them to fulfillment of their agenda, dominant with flavor of Hindutva .The evidence in defense of logic advanced is proven careless approach resulting in killing for 7 to 10 lakhs during Punjab – India partition .
Therefore, title bestowed on Mr Mandela for ‘Bharat Rattan’ appears totally a political IDEA of India hiding its Himalayan blunders. The honor is otherwise meant for those who performed best in welfare for present or past Indian society .How & What politics are advanced for such decisions could be assessed from recent award declarations found in line for Mr Sachan Tendulkar .Punjab genuinely is never kept in picture, post 1947 for any major decisions taken by Hindustan by political party ‘A’ or ‘B’. Mr Mandela is unfortunately no more and we may not go too far on internal intricacies behind his grouping with Sh.Gandhi .Let us look in for brief history for South Africa & circumstances leading to emergence of Mr Mandela to the position he held before his final respectable exit.
South Africa contains some of the oldest archaeological and human fossil sites in the world, therefore holding one of oldest treasure on the past human history for the world. The history of the Afrikaner Nation can be traced back to the first white settlement with the arrival of the Dutch in 1652 and later followed by a large numbers of European settlers, especially from Netherlands and Britain. The population for Whites reached to about 5 million i.e. between 9% and 10% in South Africa. The country became a Republic after referendum on 31 May 1961.Queen Elizabeth II was removed of the Title for being Queen of South Africa. The land area of South Africa is the 25th-largest country in the world and with close to 53 million people, is the world’s 24th-most populous nation. The Christianity to one report is practiced by about 73.52 %, Non-religious 8.08 %, Islam 1.45 %, Hinduism 1.25 %, Judaism 0.17 %, Buddhism/Chinese folk 0.03 %, African traditional belief 15.00 %. South Africa has eleven official languages.
Mr Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born on 18 July 1918. He served 27 years in prison. He was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the first black South African to hold the office, and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election. His government focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid through tackling institutionalized racism, poverty and inequality, and fostering racial reconciliation. Politically an African nationalist and democratic socialist, he served as President of the African National Congress (ANC) from 1991 to 1997. Internationally, Mandela was Secretary General of the Non-Aligned Movement from 1998 to 1999.
The Apartheid Legislation in South Africa was a series of different laws and acts which were to help the apartheid-government to enforce the segregation of different races and cement the power and the dominance by the Whites, of substantially European descent, over the other race groups. The Nationalist Government in South Africa enacted laws to define and enforce segregation. The apartheid laws were enacted in 1948 for legitimacy to racial discrimination on being institutionalized. According to economist W. E. Williams, apartheid “maintained white power by denying political and economic liberty to black South Africans.” The effect of the legislation was invariably favorable to the whites and detrimental to the non-white racial groups namely the Colored, Indians and Blacks.
Some of the major Apartheid legislation introduced was such as: The Population Registration Act, 1950, required that every South African be classified into one of a number of racial “population groups”. This act provided the foundation upon which the whole edifice of apartheid would be constructed. The Reservation of Separate Amenities Act, 1953. Job reservation and economic apartheid through Mines and Works Act, 1911.The Prohibition of Mixed Marriages Act, 1949 forbade marriages between white people and people of other races, Land tenure and geographic segregation, The Colored Persons Communal Reserves Act, 1961 and the Rural Colored Areas Act, 1963 established “reserve” areas for colored people in rural areas .Banning, detention without trial and state security such as :Suppression of Communism Act- 1950 , Public Safety Act- 1953 ,Riotous Assemblies Act- 1956 ,Unlawful Organizations Act- 1960 , Indemnity Act- 1961, General Law Amendment Act- 1963 , Terrorism Act- 1967, Indemnity Act -1977, Internal Security Act- 1982 and many dozen more such legislation similar to the one introduced in Punjab were introduced but some of them got withdrawn after struggles of Mandela.
The Sikh faith has already made history during four centuries between 1499 – 1899 by the time Mr Mandela took birth in Africa in 1918. The exemplary peaceful protest leading to Martyrdom by Religiously revolutionary guide Guru Arjun Dev ji and then Martyrdom by Guru Teg Bahdur ji brought turning point in the methodology for Sikhs in achieving natural rights for every human on the Globe. In follow up for the road map, the Sikh history underwent difficulties during the period of colonial rule under British. Sh M.C.K.C. Gandhi has knowledge for great Sikh martyrdom and having witnesses personally the peaceful Morchas against British Indians being used as tools. He got first hand information on Sikh community agitations related to Guru Ka Bagh Morcha, Chhabian Da Morcha, Jaito Morcha and understood how British Indian police brutally lathi charged Sikh Diaspora till they fell unconscious, while they continue doing Path (simran ) but bearing atrocities .It was Mr Gandhi having learnt basic lessons from Punjab but could not conduct honestly to desired deeds for safety and welfare for Punjabis. There are hundreds of historical records in support of evidence for fight given by Sikhs for protection of their natural right with natural ways of living. They suffered a lot to keep the flag high to the esteem of believed ethos taught by Ten Nanaks.
White community for British or African, despite declared barbaric Apartheid legislation, known to be anti natural human growth but allowed VOICE of demised Mandela to be heard and kept him alive. The Indian system took many hardest steps than African apartheid rules resulting in mass eliminations in Punjab through state actors in accordance to the reports of Human activist Srd Khalra, who himself became victim and got engulfed by the interwoven web of system .The recent peaceful protest in line by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh who was is on fast unto death for release of Sikh Youths has brought forward knowledge that still hundreds of Sikh Mandelas are in Indian jails despite having completed political kind of imprisonments for 15 to 20 years but not yet released .
India gave honor to late Sh Mandela for his peaceful struggles but forgot to respect its own hundreds – thousands of Mandela for Punjab for the period of 1947 to 2013. India continues to do so resulting in exposure for a blurred picture of India for being a country of multifaceted faced personality. Mr Nelson Mandela ultimately will be laid to final rest on 15th December 2013 in presence of elite world leaders including President of India that is Bharat but continue to practice in heart of heart as Hindustan. We all may long live to see changes in every state or community in favor of welfare for humanity!
